REET Syllabus 2026 and Exam Pattern
The REET syllabus below is taken from the official notification, together with the exam pattern set by BSER. Use it to plan your preparation subject by subject.
REET exam pattern
As per the official BSER notification: REET Level 1 (Classes 1–5)
| Section / subject | Questions | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Child Development and Pedagogy | 30 | 30 |
| Language I | 30 | 30 |
| Language II | 30 | 30 |
| Mathematics | 30 | 30 |
| Environmental Studies | 30 | 30 |
| Total | 150 | 150 |
- Time: 150 minutes
- Marking: +1 for each correct answer; no negative marking for wrong answers
- The exam is on an OMR sheet: four options but five bubbles (A–E); fill E to leave a question.
- No marks are lost for a wrong answer, but a question with no bubble filled costs 1/3 mark; leaving more than 10% that way disqualifies.
- Level 2 (Classes 6–8): Child Development 30, Language I 30, Language II 30, Maths & Science or Social Studies 60.
Topics
The official REET notification lists only the sections shown in the pattern above; it does not give a topic-wise list. Questions follow the usual level of these sections for this exam.
