Kochi Metro Apprentice Recruitment 2026 has been announced for 70 apprentices. Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL), a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Kerala, has issued notice No. KMRL/Apprenticeship/2026-27/HR-Admin/01 dated 15 October 2026 for one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. ITI, diploma and graduate (technical and non-technical) pass-outs can apply from 15 October to 10 November 2026.

Vacancy Details

The number of seats is tentative and may change as per KMRL's needs. Reservation, including for PwBD candidates, follows government rules.

Stipend

Apprentices also get ₹1,200 a month as food or messing allowance. Under the NATS scheme the Government of India pays a direct benefit transfer (DBT) of ₹5,450 to diploma apprentices and ₹6,150 to graduates, so the bank account must be linked with Aadhaar.

Eligibility

• The qualification must be a full-time regular course and must have been passed (result declared) within five years before the closing date
• Part-time, correspondence, distance and online qualifications are not accepted
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old and medically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961
• Not eligible: candidates awaiting final results, and those who have done or are doing apprenticeship training in any organisation
• The final mark sheet must show the percentage; otherwise a percentage conversion letter from the institute is needed

Selection Process

• No written test or interview
• Incomplete or ineligible applications are rejected without notice
• Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification
• Engagement follows acceptance of the apprenticeship contract on the NATS or NAPS portal, a medical certificate and police verification
• Training lasts one year; apprentices get 12 days of casual leave and 15 days of medical leave, and the training gives no right to a job

How to Apply

• Step 1: ITI candidates register on the NAPS portal; diploma and degree holders register on the NATS portal, and complete their profile fully
• Step 2: Download the KMRL notice and fill in the apprentice bio-data form attached to it (link at the bottom of this page)
• Step 3: Attach your NATS or NAPS enrolment number, copies of mark sheets and certificates, proof of age and category certificate if any
• Step 4: Send the form to the General Manager (HR, Admin and Training), Kochi Metro Rail Ltd., Corporate Office, 4th Floor, JLN Stadium Metro Station, Kaloor, Kochi, Kerala 682017, by 10 November 2026
