All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released a notice (No. F.AS/JR.07/2026 dated 19 October 2026) for a special recruitment drive for 62 Junior Resident posts for the remaining period up to 31 December 2026. The posts are at Level 10 of the pay matrix with an entry pay of Rs. 56,100 per month plus the usual allowances. They fill the vacant seats of the July 2026 session. The last date to submit the application is 31 October 2026, 5:00 PM, and only the physical form is accepted.

By category the 62 posts are UR 2, EWS 3, OBC 25, SC 24 and ST 8. The numbers are provisional and may change at the time of the selection.
Eligibility
- MBBS (including the completed internship) or an equivalent degree recognised by the NMC/MCI. Only the candidates who completed MBBS and the internship between 01.11.2023 and 31.10.2026 are considered.
- Indian citizens, including OCI and PIO.
- A permanent Delhi Medical Council or State Medical Council registration is mandatory at the time of joining.
- Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and 4% horizontal reservation for PwBD candidates as per the rules. OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates must be issued between 01.04.2026 and 31.10.2026.
Application Fee
The notice does not mention any application fee.
Selection Process
Selection is by counselling based on a merit list prepared from the last INI-CET rank (July 2026) and the aggregate percentage in MBBS, or the FMGE score for the foreign graduates. No separate intimation is sent for the counselling except by e-mail. Candidates must bring the original certificates for the verification.
How to Apply
- Download the form from the Institute's website (www.aiimsexams.ac.in) and fill it in. Late and incomplete applications are not considered.
- Submit the physical form with the documents at the Academic Section-II, AIIMS, New Delhi, from 21.10.2026 to 31.10.2026 till 5:00 PM: date of birth proof, MBBS marksheet and degree, category certificate, DMC/State Medical Council registration, FMGE scorecard (for foreign graduates), INI-CET scorecard with rank (July 2026) and the internship certificate.
- Selected candidates who do not join after the allotment have to pay a penalty of one month's salary to get the original documents released. One month's notice is needed for resignation (15 days in December).
