The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has invited online applications to hire 8 Senior Research Consultants and 1 Consultant (HR), 9 posts in all, on a contract basis. The hiring is under the DERC (Appointment of Consultant) Regulations, 2001. The last date to apply online is 24.11.2026.
The posts cover tariff (engineering and finance), engineering, law and human resources work for the Commission. Selected candidates will help the Commission with tariff orders, DPR reviews, legal matters and HR administration. Details of posts, eligibility, pay and how to apply are given below.

Eligibility
- Senior Research Consultant (Tariff-Engg.): Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering, with minimum 8 years of experience in the power sector, of which 4 years in tariff determination, regulation or commercial/regulatory work. Maximum age 45 years.
- Senior Research Consultant (Tariff-Finance): Qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, or full-time MBA (Finance) or MBA (Power Management), with minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience. Maximum age 45 years.
- Senior Research Consultant (Engineering): Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering, with minimum 8 years of experience in the power sector, of which 4 years in a Distribution, Transmission or Generation Company. Maximum age 45 years.
- Senior Research Consultant (Law): Qualified LLB, with 3 years of experience in civil matters. Maximum age 45 years.
- Consultant (HR): Full-time MBA (HR), PGDM (HR) or equivalent, with minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in establishment, HR or administration in a Central or State Government, PSU or autonomous body. Maximum age 35 years.
Age is counted from the last date of publishing the advertisement in newspapers.
Application Fee
The notice does not mention any application fee. The consolidated fee for each post is decided by the Commission case by case.
Selection Process
- If more than 10 eligible candidates apply for a post, the Commission will hold a qualifying test.
- Based on merit, only 10 candidates who qualify the test will be shortlisted and called for interview.
- At the interview, candidates must bring original documents and salary slips for the past six months.
- Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee a call for interview. The decision of DERC is final.
