CMRL Chennai Metro Recruitment 2026 - 6 Posts

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu, has invited applications for 6 senior posts on contract or deputation basis under Employment Notification No. CMRL-HR-CON-DEP-06-2026 dated 14 October 2026. The posts are General Manager (Signal & Telecom), Additional General Manager (Safety - Operations & Maintenance), three Manager posts and one Assistant Manager (Public Relations). Vacancy Details

All posts are on contract or deputation basis. The contract is first for 2 years and can be extended. The first deputation period is 3 years, extendable up to 5 years.

Eligibility

• General Manager (Signal & Telecom): B.E/B.Tech in ECE/EEE (or a combination) with at least 20 years of experience.
• Additional General Manager (Safety): B.E/B.Tech with at least 17 years of experience, including working experience in a safety organisation of Indian Railways or a Metro.
• Manager (Telecom): B.E/B.Tech in ECE/EEE with at least 7 years of experience.
• Manager (Electrical Traction): B.E/B.Tech (Electrical) with at least 7 years of experience.
• Manager (Electrical & Mechanical): B.E/B.Tech (ECE/EEE/Mechanical) with at least 7 years of experience.
• Assistant Manager (Public Relations): Graduation with a PG degree in Public Relations or Communication and at least 2 years of experience.
• Only Indian nationals can apply. Candidates from Government or PSU organisations must apply through proper channel and produce an NOC at the interview.
• Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 2 years for MBC/DNC and Backward Classes, 10 years for differently abled persons (direct recruitment only), and for ex-servicemen the service length plus 3 years. The maximum age with all relaxations cannot cross 58 years.

Application Fee

• General and other categories: Rs 300
• SC/ST: Rs 50
• Differently abled persons: no fee
• The fee applies to contract applicants only, is paid by NEFT/UPI and is not refundable.

Selection Process

• Selection is in two stages: an interview and then a medical examination.
• Only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview. Meeting the minimum conditions does not guarantee a call.
• No TA/DA is paid for the interview.
