Odisha SSB Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026 Out

The Odisha State Selection Board (SSB), Department of Higher Education, has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 to fill 435 posts of Laboratory Assistant-cum-Storekeeper (Group B, Level 9). The posts are in Government Degree Colleges and Non-Government Aided Colleges of Odisha. Online applications open on 12 October 2026 and close on 16 November 2026 at 11:45 PM, through the official website only.

Vacancy Details

Subject-wise vacancies for Government Degree Colleges are in Annexure-I, and district-wise and subject-wise vacancies for Non-Government Aided Colleges are in Annexure-II. If eligible women candidates are not available in a category, the unfilled posts will go to eligible men of the same category. The number of vacancies may change without notice.

Eligibility

• Education: Bachelor Degree with Honours in the respective practical subjects.
• Age limit: minimum 21 years and maximum 42 years as on 1 January 2026.
• Nationality and residence: must be an Indian citizen and a resident of Odisha.
• Language: must be able to speak, read and write Odia.
• Age relaxation: 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC, Women and Ex-Servicemen. 10 years for PwD candidates with 40% or more permanent disability.

Application Fee

• SC, ST and PwD candidates: ₹200
• All other categories: ₹500
• Fee must be paid online through the designated payment gateway and is non-refundable.

Selection Process

Selection is based only on a written test (OMR/CBT mode) with 100 multiple choice questions carrying 150 marks, for a duration of two hours. Each correct answer carries 1.5 marks and 0.5 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Unreserved candidates must score at least 40%, while SC/ST/SEBC and PwD candidates must score at least 30%. In case of a tie, the candidate with higher marks in the Bachelor's Degree gets preference, and if the tie continues, the older candidate is selected.
