The International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, an autonomous R&D centre of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has invited online applications for 29 scientific, technical, administrative and support posts (Advertisement No. ARCI/HRD/RECT/1/2026). The posts are Scientist B, Officer B (on deputation), Technical Assistant A, Assistant A, Technician A and Driver A, with total emoluments from about Rs. 39,970 to Rs. 1,18,110 per month. The last date to submit the online application is 21 November 2026.

Vacancy Details

• Assistant A: 5 posts at ARCI Hyderabad and 1 post at the ARCI Gurugram office. For Driver A, preference is given to ex-servicemen.
• Besides the pay, benefits such as NPS, gratuity, group insurance, medical reimbursement, children education allowance and LTC are given as per the norms.

Eligibility

• Scientist B: B.E./B.Tech. in Materials, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering. A Master's degree and one year of R&D experience are desirable.
• Officer B: A Bachelor's degree with substantial supervisory experience in finance and accounts, from Central/State Government, university, research institution or autonomous body. This is a deputation of normally up to 3 years.
• Technical Assistant A: B.Sc. in Physical Sciences with Chemistry as one subject, or a 3-year diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Candidates with higher qualifications such as M.Sc., B.E./B.Tech., M.Tech. or Ph.D. are not considered for this post.
• Assistant A: A Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in office, secretariat, administration, HR, finance and accounts, or purchase and inventory work, and knowledge of MS Office, e-Office and ERP.
• Technician A: 10th pass, 2 years full-time ITI in Fitter, Turner or Electrician trade, and 3 years of technical experience. The posts are Fitter 6, Turner 1 and Electrician 2.
• Driver A: 10th pass, a valid licence for light and heavy vehicles, knowledge of motor mechanism, and driving experience of at least 3 years in light and 6 years in heavy vehicles.

Application Fee

• The fee is for each post applied for, is non-refundable, and is paid by UPI or NEFT/RTGS to the ARCI account given in the advertisement. Reserved candidates applying against unreserved posts pay the full fee.

Selection Process

• Applications are screened on academic performance and relevant experience, and the screened-in candidates appear for a computer-based competitive written examination (CWE), held only at Hyderabad.
• Scientist B: CWE of 100 MCQs of 3 marks each (300 marks, 3 hours, 1 mark negative for each wrong answer), followed by a personal interview.
• Technical Assistant A, Assistant A and Technician A: CWE, followed by a trade or skill test.
• Driver A: CWE, followed by a skill and driving test.
• Officer B: Personal interview of shortlisted candidates.
