The Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Chennai has issued a vacancy circular to fill 7 posts on deputation basis: Assistant (1), Junior Translation Officer (1), Stenographer Grade II (1), Stenographer Grade III (1) and Upper Division Clerk (3). Only eligible employees of the Central Government, State Government, their PSUs or autonomous bodies can apply. This is an open advertisement for 1 year from the date of publication in Employment News.

The number of vacancies is provisional and may be increased or decreased by MEPZ as per actual requirements. Pay: Assistant, JTO and Stenographer Grade II are in Level-6 (pre-revised PB-2: Rs.9300-34800 + GP Rs.4200). Stenographer Grade III and UDC are in Level-4 (pre-revised PB-1: Rs.5200-20200 + GP Rs.2400).
Eligibility
- General rule: only employees of the Central Government, State Government, Central/State PSUs or autonomous bodies may be considered.
- Assistant: Degree from a recognised university, knowledge of word processing, and 30 words per minute in English typewriting or 25 words per minute in Hindi typewriting.
- JTO: Master's degree in Hindi/English with the subject at degree level, or other specified qualifications, plus translation diploma or two years of translation experience, and knowledge of word processing and Hindi software.
- Stenographer Grade II: 100 words per minute in English shorthand, 40 words per minute in English typewriting and word processing knowledge.
- Stenographer Grade III: 80 words per minute in English shorthand, 30 words per minute in English typewriting and word processing knowledge.
- UDC: holding analogous post, or LDC with eight years of regular service in the grade; 30 words per minute in English typewriting and word processing knowledge.
- Age limit: maximum 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application.
- Deputation period ordinarily will not exceed 3 years.

Selection Process
Applications will be scrutinised as per eligibility conditions, and shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview in the succeeding month.

- Format: apply in the prescribed proforma (Annexure II).
- Documents: complete APARs for the last five years (original or attested copies), Integrity Certificate / Vigilance Clearance, and details of major/minor penalties in the last five years (state clearly if none).
