SSC GD Syllabus 2026 and Exam Pattern

The SSC GD syllabus below is taken from the official notification, together with the exam pattern set by SSC. Use it to plan your preparation subject by subject.

SSC GD exam pattern

As per the official SSC notification: Computer Based Examination (CBE)

Time: 60 minutes
Marking: +2 for each correct answer, −0.25 for each wrong answer
Four parts of 20 questions each; no separate section timer.
A wrong answer costs 0.25 mark; minimum qualifying marks: UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, others 20%.

Number system; whole numbers, decimals, fractions
Fundamental arithmetical operations
Percentage, ratio and proportion, averages

Mensuration
Time and distance, time and work

English / Hindi

Understanding basic English or Hindi
Basic comprehension
