CJH Tihar Senior/Junior Resident Recruitment 2026

The Central Jail Hospital, Tihar, Government of NCT of Delhi, has issued a notice to fill Senior Resident and Junior Resident (MBBS) posts on an ad-hoc basis. There are 20 posts in total: 7 Senior Resident and 13 Junior Resident. Interested and eligible candidates must send their applications by 29 October 2026. Interviews will be held on 2 and 3 November 2026.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility

• Senior Resident: Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB) or Diploma in the concerned specialty. If PG degree/diploma candidates are not available, a candidate with at least 2 years of experience after MBBS may be considered. Preference is given to candidates with 2 or more years of experience in the concerned specialty. Candidates who have already completed 3+1 years of Senior Residency are not eligible. Upper age limit is 45 years (as on 29.10.2026), relaxable by 5 years for ex-servicemen, 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Delhi only).
• Junior Resident: MBBS degree with 1 year internship. For internship completed in India, it must be completed on or after 29.10.2024. Upper age limit is 30 years (as on 29.10.2026), with the same relaxations.
• For both posts, a valid Delhi Medical Council (DMC) registration is required. A DMC acknowledgement receipt is accepted for interview, but valid DMC registration must be held at the time of joining.

Pay

• Senior Resident: Pay Matrix Level-11 (Rs 67,700 - 2,08,700) plus other admissible allowances.
• Junior Resident: Pay Level-10 (Rs 56,100 - 1,77,500) plus usual allowances.

Application Fee

• There is no fee for appearing in the interview.

Selection Process

• Selection is through interview, conducted by the Centralized Recruitment Committee under the chairmanship of the Dean, MAMC.
• Appointment is subject to medical fitness and verification of certificates.
• The appointment is ad-hoc, initially for 44 days or till the Centralized Recruitment Committee makes the selection, whichever is earlier. It can be extended by 44 days at a time, up to 3 years for Senior Residents and 1 year for Junior Residents.
• Selected candidates must join within 7 days of the offer letter and may be posted at any Central Jail of Delhi (Tihar, Rohini, Mandoli or Lampur Detention Centre).
