The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has invited applications for engaging one Individual Consultant as Sr. Advisor (Law) on a contract basis. Vacancy Details

Eligibility

• Experience: At least 15 years of working experience after the qualification in the Power Sector, a judicial body, a regulatory or quasi-judicial body, dealing with legal matters.
• Required skills: Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills; adept at computers, including MS Office.
• Desirable: Understanding of the electricity sector regulatory framework and Tariff Regulations, knowledge of the National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy, and experience in drafting inputs for orders and regulations.
• Age: Below 62 years as on 1 January of the year of advertisement. No consultant will be retained after attaining 65 years of age.
• Relaxation: The Commission may relax essential qualifications or experience in deserving cases.

Service Conditions

• Contract period: Initially one year, extendable for three years on satisfactory performance, and then up to two more years, up to a total of six years.
• Medical: Reimbursement of medical insurance for OPD/IPD treatment up to Rs 34,000 per year.
• Books and periodicals: Reimbursement up to Rs 2,400 per month inclusive of taxes.
• Leave: 15 days in a calendar year, in addition to Central Government holidays. Unutilised leave cannot be carried forward or encashed.

Selection Process

• Eligibility will be checked by a Consultancy Evaluation Committee (CEC).
• Evaluation criteria: Academic background and relevant experience (0.50), drafting skills (0.30), knowledge of the working environment (0.20).
• The CEC may conduct a written test to evaluate drafting and presentation skills.
• Only short-listed candidates will be called for an interaction with the Selection Committee.
