Asansol-Durgapur Police Driver Recruitment 2026 Out

The Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate, West Bengal, has invited applications for 15 temporary driver posts on a contractual basis under Employment Notice No. 2242-E dated 17.10.2026. Selected drivers will get a consolidated remuneration of about Rs 16,000 per month. Applications must be made offline in the prescribed format.

Eligibility

• Citizenship: The applicant must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of West Bengal. Residents of Paschim Bardhaman area will be preferred.
• Age limit: 21 to 40 years as on the date of advertisement.
• Minimum qualification: Class VIII passed from a recognised school.
• Technical qualification: A valid four-wheeler driving licence (LMV / HMV) of at least 3 years.
• Experience: At least 3 years of driving experience in a government, quasi-government organisation or registered private limited company is preferred.

Selection Process

• Driving test and interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called. Full marks are 40 (driving test 20 and interview 20).
• Merit list: Prepared on marks obtained and published on the official website and the unit notice board.
• Medical examination: Provisionally selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test.
• Character verification: Selected candidates must submit a police clearance certificate at the time of joining.

How to Apply

• Form: Download the notice and application form from the official website and print it on white A4 paper.
• Documents: Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving Licence, and educational, technical qualification and experience certificates (as applicable).
• Photo: Paste one recent self-attested passport-size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) at the top right of the application.
• Submission: Submit the application personally in the DROP BOX at the office of the Commissioner of Police. Superscribe the envelope as "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (CONTRACTUAL), 2026".
• Incomplete applications without required documents will be rejected.

Other Conditions

• No TA/DA will be paid for the driving test and interview.
• Canvassing or bringing any influence will lead to disqualification.
• No claim for regularisation in future will be entertained.
• The authority can cancel the recruitment at any stage without notice or reason.`
