IITM Pune M.Sc/M.Tech Project 2026 - Apply Online

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune is inviting online applications for its 06 to 09 month M.Sc/M.Tech project. The project is for students who are currently pursuing their Masters (MSc, MTech or MS). The last date to apply is 22 November 2026, and each applicant needs an email consent from an IITM scientist mentor.

Eligibility

• Only students currently pursuing M.Sc, M.Tech or MS can apply.
• Candidates should have at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in all examinations from SSC (10th) onward.
• A Letter of Recommendation from the Head of the Department (on departmental letterhead) is needed. It is mandatory to submit it while joining IITM after selection.

Documents to Upload

• A single PDF file (max 03 MB, .pdf format only) with a detailed resume or CV including area of interest.
• Scanned copies of original or self-attested mark lists of 10th, 12th, all years of bachelor's degree (BSc/BTech) and all available master's mark lists.
• Email consent from the IITM scientist mentor.
• A clear photograph (.jpg, .png or .gif, max 100 KB).
• File names must not contain a dot, except before the file extension.

Selection Process

• Selection is based on merit as per the procedure adopted by the Academic Cell.
• Scientist consent does not guarantee selection.
• Accommodation in the IITM hostel is based on room availability, may be given to only a few outstation candidates, and is not guaranteed. Local students will not get accommodation.
• Names of selected students will be shown on the IITM website.

How to Apply

• Before applying, check the list of IITM scientists in the official website and contact possible guides online.
• If the student and guide agree, the guide gives email consent, which must be uploaded.
• Fill the online form, preview it in the popup window, and click the "submit" button. Changes are not possible after submission.
• You should get an auto-generated email from iitmjobs@tropmet.res.in with an acknowledgment number. Check the spam or junk folder if it is not received.
• For form-filling queries, contact academiccell@tropmet.res.in. Successful submission does not confirm selection.
