UPSC CDS 1 Final Result 2026 Out: 243 Recommended

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final result of the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2026 on 2 November 2026. The merit lists name 243 candidates (155 + 63 + 25) who qualified on the basis of the written exam held in April 2026 and the SSB interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence. The lists are for the 162nd (DE) Course of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) No. 221 F(P) Course. Some candidates appear in more than one list.

Result Details

• Indian Military Academy, Dehradun: 155 candidates for 100 vacancies (13 for NCC 'C' Certificate, Army Wing)
• Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala: 63 candidates for 26 vacancies, Executive Branch (General Service)/Hydro (6 for NCC 'C' Certificate, Naval Wing)
• Air Force Academy, Hyderabad: 25 candidates for 32 vacancies (3 for NCC 'C' Certificate, Air Wing, through the NCC Special Entry)
• The lists are in order of merit, with roll number and name.

What Happens Next

• Medical examination results were not used to prepare these lists, so joining also depends on medical fitness.
• Date of birth and educational qualifications are still being verified by Army Headquarters, so all candidatures are provisional.
• Send original certificates of date of birth and education, with attested photocopies, to Army, Naval or Air Headquarters as per your first choice.
• Report any change of address directly to the Service Headquarters.
• Marks will be put on the UPSC website after the final result of the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) course of this exam.
