Job Responsibilities

• Technical leadership: plan the technical roadmap for the team's reusable services and choose between prompting, retrieval, fine-tuning or smaller specialised models. The choice is based on accuracy, cost, latency and data governance, and the reasons are documented.
• Team leadership: review the work of in-house engineers and data scientists and stay hands-on in code, training and debugging.
• Specialisation areas: NLP and Document AI, including OCR and document question answering; Speech AI for Indian languages; Computer Vision, including face verification and forgery detection; and Agentic AI, including agents that use tools with human approval for key actions.
• Evaluation and safety: build golden datasets and metrics, set release thresholds, and test services for prompt injection, adversarial inputs and leakage of personal data before release. This is done together with the QA Lead and the AI Safety team.
• Deployment and reuse: deploy services through the AI platform and gateway, publish them to the service catalogue with documentation and SLAs, and contribute models to AIKosh Vendor Oversight.
• Vendor review: review designs, code and evaluation evidence of vendor teams, and recommend acceptance or rejection of their deliverables.
• Responsible AI and privacy: apply anonymisation, data minimisation and DPDPA 2023 requirements, with stricter handling of biometric data, and document models through model cards and evaluation records.
