SVNIT Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 Out

SVNIT Surat (Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology), an Institute of National Importance set up under the NIT Act by the Ministry of Education, has released a recruitment advertisement for 17 Assistant Professor Grade-I (Pay Level 12) posts. Online applications close on 30.11.2026 at 5:00 pm, and the signed hard copy must reach the institute by 07.12.2026. Pay is ₹101,500 to ₹167,400 per month along with admissible allowances.

Vacancy Details

• Reservation: UR-08, OBC-03, SC-01, ST-05
• Reservation for PwD @ 4% will apply as per GOI norms.
• Departments with vacancies include Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Computer Science & Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Mathematics & Humanities.

Eligibility

• Essential qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, and first class in all preceding degrees from Bachelor's onwards.
• If first class is not mentioned on the degree certificate, then at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks in aggregate is required.
• Detailed qualifications, experience and credit point rules are given in Schedule E of the NIT Statute and the annexures of the advertisement. Read them before applying.

Application Fee

• Non-refundable application processing fee: ₹1000 (Rupees One Thousand only) for each application, paid online.
• SC, ST, PwD, female candidates and existing SVNIT faculty members are exempted from the fee.

Selection Process

• Selection includes scrutiny of applications and shortlisting, followed by a screening test, presentation or interview.
• The detailed procedure, exam pattern and schedule will be published later on the official website.

How to Apply

• Apply online only through the SVNIT recruitment portal linked from the official website.
• After submitting, download the application form and the credit point summary sheet.
• Send the printout, self-attested documents and fee proof to the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), SVNIT, Ichchhanath, Dumas Road, Surat – 395 007, Gujarat.
• Applications received through any other mode will not be accepted.
• Write the advertisement number, date, post and department on the envelope.
