Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat has invited online applications from Indian citizens for Assistant Professor and equivalent posts under the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Community Science through Advertisement No. 4/2026. As per the document, there are 50 posts in the Faculty of Agriculture and 10 posts in the Faculty of Community Science, making 60 posts in total. Vacancy Details

Agriculture faculty posts include Soil Science, Agronomy, Biochemistry, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Computer Science and other disciplines. Community Science faculty posts cover Extension Education and Communication Management, Human Development and Family Studies, Apparel and Textile Science, Food & Nutrition, and Resource Management and Consumer Science.

Eligibility

• Education: Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject and a Master's degree with minimum 55% marks or 3.00 on a 4-point scale (7.00 on a 10-point scale) CGPA, as per the discipline.
• NET: Required where the discipline conducts NET; waived for candidates with a PhD obtained under the course credit system who meet the stated publication conditions.
• Age: Upper age limit is 38 years as on the last date of submission. Age relaxation for reserved categories is as per Assam Government norms. Permanent in-service candidates may get relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years, as per existing norms and supported by relevant documents.
• Only permanent residents of Assam should apply for the posts of Assistant Professor & equivalent.

• General/OBC: Rs. 1000/- (non-refundable)
• SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 500/- (non-refundable)
• Fee to be deposited through online mode only.

Selection Process

• Minimum PBAS score: 44 out of 80 for General and 40 out of 80 for SC/ST, based on the API-based Performance Based Appraisal System.
• Candidates meeting this minimum are called for interview for direct recruitment in AAU.
