CUJ Assistant Professor Walk-In Interview 2026

The Central University of Jharkhand has invited walk-in interviews for one temporary Assistant Professor post in the Department of English Studies. The engagement is purely temporary and pays a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 57,700 per month. Online registration closes on 3 November 2026 at 5.00 p.m., and the walk-in interview is on 5 November 2026.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility

• Master's degree: 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• NET/SET: Qualified NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a UGC-accredited test such as SLET/SET. Some Ph.D. holders are exempt under stated conditions.
• Subject: NET or Ph.D. in English, or a Master's degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Film Studies, English Language & Literature, Communicative English or Translation Studies.
• Relaxation: 5% relaxation in marks for SC, ST, differently-abled and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.
• Ph.D. holders who got their Master's degree before 19 September 1991 get a relaxation from 55% to 50% marks.

Terms of Engagement

• Candidates will not get residential accommodation, official transport, leave encashment or other allowances available to regular employees.
• They will get 8 days of leave on a pro-rata basis in a calendar year.
• The engagement is initially for one semester, and may be extended based on the university's requirement and satisfactory performance.
• The university may cancel or change the interview without giving a reason. No TA/DA or accommodation is provided for attending the interview.
