Bharathiar University, Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) has invited offline applications for the post of Dean, College Development Council. The application form must be sent with the registration fee as a Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar, and the last date is 30.11.2026. The application must reach the university by 5:30 p.m. on that date. The tenure is 3 years and the pay is as per the Professor scale.

Vacancy Details

Eligibility

• Age: completed 52 years but not more than 57 years on the date of notification of the advertisement
• Academic qualification: Ph.D. in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline, with published work of high quality and at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120
• Experience: minimum 10 years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in a university or college, and/or equivalent research experience with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates
• Alternative route: an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. from an academic institution or industry, who has made significant contribution to knowledge and has 10 years of experience
• Master's marks: 55% (relaxed to 50% for SC/ST, and for certain existing university incumbents and Ph.D. holders who passed Master's before 19.09.1991, as per the notes)
• Knowledge of Tamil: needed to the extent of carrying official correspondence and drafting reports

• General category: Rs. 600/- (including registration fee)
• OBC/SC/ST: Rs. 300/-
• Payment: Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore
• The application fee including registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process

• Selection will be as per the decision of the Syndicate of Bharathiar University.
• Candidates called for interview must attend at their own cost.
• Candidates in service must send their application through proper channel.
• Canvassing or influencing candidature leads to disqualification.
