SMPK Deputy Manager Recruitment 2026 - Marine Engineering

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata has issued a circular dated 30 October 2026 for one post of Deputy Manager (Marine Engineering) in the Marine Operations Division, Haldia Dock Complex. The post falls vacant on 1 February 2027 and carries the pay scale of Rs 90,000 to 2,40,000. It is filled by absorption or deputation, and only Indian nationals already employed in a Major Port can apply. This is not an open recruitment for freshers. Eligibility

• The applicant must be employed in a Major Port.
• Absorption or deputation is for officers holding analogous posts, or those holding the feeder post or equivalent in the pay scale of Rs 80,000 to 2,20,000 with 2 years of regular service in a Major Port Authority.
• The essential qualification in the recruitment rules for this post is an MEO Class I Certificate issued under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958, with 5 years of experience as Chief Engineer on a foreign-going ship or Trailer Suction Hopper Dredger.
• The applicant's APAR grading must be at least "Good".

• Selection is by merit, through a Service Selection Committee.
• Any major or minor penalty in the last 10 years must be disclosed with the case papers.

• Attach attested APARs for 2021-22 to 2025-26, self-certified certificates, a No Objection Certificate (Annexure-IV), an undertaking that you will not withdraw if selected, vigilance clearance (Annexure-V), two colour photographs and certified service details.
